Founded in 1865 by Don José Gener, a Spanish immigrant, Hoyo de Monterrey takes its name from Gener’s plantation in the fertile hoyo — or valley — of San Juan y Martínez in Cuba’s Vuelta Abajo region. Known for producing some of the finest wrapper leaves, the brand reflects Cuba’s gentler side. Hoyo de Monterrey cigars are light to medium-bodied, offering smooth, aromatic flavors with subtle notes of cedar and cream, perfect for those who enjoy elegance over strength.
